About Me

I'm a Miami-based photographer but love to travel for the perfect picture!

I like to think I have a very classic style, with a youthful twist.

I think a wedding is the most amazing experience to capture on film

I'm a Nikon user, an Apple lover and Nike Fanatic!

You will always see an issue of GQ, Complex and Vogue Magazine on my coffee table (Yes, Vogue has some of the most amazing photographers ever!)

I run daily, not to stay in shape but to support my eating habit.

L-10 is my nickname, get it... EL-TEN (Elton)

There is beauty in everyone and everything.... my goal is to capture it.

PORTRAITS: AFTERNOON AT VIZCAYA

Today I spent the afternoon with one of my first brides and her family to recreate a few pictures from her wedding day. This time we stepped it up a notch and headed over to the Vizcaya Museum. If you’re ever in the Miami area make sure to check it out — one of the most amazing sites you’ll ever see.

PORTRAITS: YENWEN

The best part of being a photographer is meeting people like Yenwen. We had a great shoot today — full of jokes and even a few dance moves (she’s a talented dancer by the way). One thing you may notice about this shoot is that it has a strong “lifestyle” feel. After dabbling in a few different genres of photography I’ve learned that I’m more inspired by this style. I’ll do a full post on lifestyle photography, what it means and a few examples that inspire me.

Check out the rest of the pics here.

RANDOM PHOTOS: THURSDAY

Today was one of those random “I feel like shooting” days, so my photog friend Winston recommended we head to Virginia Key Beach to check out a few of his favorite spots. I had never been but I was amazed to see that VKB was one of Miami’s hidden treasures. Not only was it the first beach accessible to blacks back in the 50′s but its also home to Jimbo’s. For those who don’t know, Jimbo’s is actually a piece of waterfront property “owned” by an 85 year-old sailor who goes by the same name. Jimbo was originally a squatter  but had lived on the property so long that he legally owned it according to Florida squatting law. Basically, the property is Jimbo’s for as long as he lives and he has become a local legend to the many visitors who stop by to grab a beer, play botchky ball and tour the area.

Now after saying all that, I’m sure you were expecting a dozen pictures of the legendary Jimbo buuuuut….. my camera battery died :-( . So for now you’ll have to deal with the iPhone pics and few other random shot from the day. I promise a full story soon.

JUST IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING

As the wedding season approaches I’ve been getting a ton of questions from brides, grooms, wedding planners, mother-in-laws, flower girls, etc. So to save us all some time, I will be adding an F.A.Q. section to my website. I’m just trying to make us all a little happier ;-)

Here’s a few of my most recent questions. If you have any other Q’s click the word contact at the top of the page.

1) It indicates that we’ll have the digital “proofs” on DVD as well as online phone gallery, does it mean that we will be able to download these photos and print them out ourselves if we decide to do so in the future?

The DVD of digital proofs are pretty much just proofs. The files are not big enough to print, just big enough to view on your computer or online. Most couples post digital proofs to their facebook or myspace pages after the wedding. All of my packages do include a 16×20 print, so you can choose that special picture from the proof DVD.

My online gallery is hosted through Pictage. 2-4 weeks after the wedding I’ll send you a password and you can view your entire wedding online. Feel free to share this password with all of your family and friends. You will be able to purchase any picture through this site and also begin creating your album.

One year after your wedding you will receive a high-resolution DVD of all your images and these will be printable. Please note that at this point I release the liability of keeping your wedding images but you can print these pictures as many times as you like.

**Note: I have decided to make a High-Resolution (printable) DVD of all your wedding images available  for $200

2) In the 6-hour coverage, do you have a limit on locations?

There is no limit on locations at all. And although it says 6 hours of coverage, I’m usually available all day for my brides.

3) How many photos would you take in average in a wedding (say in a 6-hour coverage)?

I typically take anywhere from 1500 – 3000 pictures per wedding. As you can see I have a photojournalistic approach to photography so I may take multiple shots of the same moment to get that “perfect shot”. The majority of my shots are candid although I do take time after the ceremony for posed pictures.

4) Our wedding is located in outside of Miami, FL.  Will you require a traveling fee?

I do charge a minimal travel fee, but I work closely with my brides to seem as local as possible. Luckily, I have family and friends in most major cities and they usually let me crash at their homes (since I’m such a nice guy). So my travel fee is usually no more than airfare.

FAMILY: THE THERAMENES

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted, so what better way to start off the New Year than with family! Cassandra (who’s rockin’ the blue dress) is a fellow rattler and has become a great friend ever since I moved to Miami, so I was truly excited when she hired me to do a photoshoot for her family. We  had a great Sunday afternoon in the park — blowing bubbles and trying to get her niece to smile for the camera. Here’s a few pics from today’s shoot.
