About Me

I'm a Miami-based photographer but love to travel for the perfect picture!

I like to think I have a very classic style, with a youthful twist.

I think a wedding is the most amazing experience to capture on film

I'm a Nikon user, an Apple lover and Nike Fanatic!

You will always see an issue of GQ, Complex and Vogue Magazine on my coffee table (Yes, Vogue has some of the most amazing photographers ever!)

I run daily, not to stay in shape but to support my eating habit.

L-10 is my nickname, get it... EL-TEN (Elton)

There is beauty in everyone and everything.... my goal is to capture it.

DANCE LIKE NO ONE’S WATCHING

So a few weeks ago you might remember that I was second shooter at Ana Lisa and Kelly’s wedding. It was an amazing event and I grabbed some beautiful shots but despite all the grandeur of that evening, there was one guest that really stood out to me. I don’t know the guy’s name and we never actually spoke but surprisingly he had a HUGE affect on me. As you can see from these pictures he is literally the only one dancing in a crowd of people. Some might call him crazy, confident or “different”, whatever “it” is I can totally relate! That’s because exactly six months ago today I left corporate America to pursue my dream of photography – the single SCARIEST moment of my life.

For people that have known me the longest the news was beyond random. I had only taken one photography class (junior year in college) and I had never even owned a camera until late 2007. Explaining this to my parents was tough… I was leaving a great career in Pharmaceutical sales, a company car and free gas?! During a recession?! [Wow, that does actually sound crazy when I type it out, lol] Here was my problem: I was living the “American Dream” but I wasn’t living MY dreams. There’s a huge difference.

Fast-forward 6 months later and after many sleepless nights, tons of practice and the continued support of my friends I am actually a lot happier. Granted, I still miss that company car and steady paycheck but nothing compares to the feeling I get when a client REALLY loves their pictures. As a photographer my goal is to capture all your joy, your kindness – the REAL essence of you in one moment. If I can do that then I am really living my dream.

And as you’re reading this there is still a recession going on and people may think you’re crazy for pursuing your passion but I suggest doing what this guy did – keep dancing, and they can either laugh or join in with you.

good luck.
